Davis joined the business as a Support Analyst, brought in to handle the technical support requests from clients and candidates. More recently, he is involved in the production side of Jobsgopublic, including building creative media for our websites and coding client microsites, something he really enjoys.

Abi started working for Jobsgopublic three years ago. She came to us as a HR Assistant, focussing on administration and office management. Abi moved swiftly into sales and progressed quickly into her current role as a Client Account Manager.

I was given the opportunity to develop my client relationship skills further into becoming a dedicated Account Manager. I don’t tend to have two days the same as my role is very varied. I currently manage and develop our contractual clients and I take responsibility for our client relationships and ensuring retention and satisfaction. Some of my key responsibilities include working with clients closely to develop a clear understanding of their objectives; managing projects to ensure delivery is on time and to budget; be involved at all stages of the creative process; as well as day to day queries clients may have regarding their account.

Sam came to us around 18 months ago, having completed internships within Education and e-commerce. His initial role was to support the marketing function on email marketing, online advertising and blog writing. During this time, Sam obtained his Chartered Certificate in Marketing and has now been promoted to Marketing Executive as recognition of his changing role in developing our services, introducing new products and leading on the development of our in-house PR service.

Front End Developer

Do you have a passion for developing and creating for the web and beyond?

JGP are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Front End Developer to evolve our already award-winning work delivering inspiring, high quality websites to our customers.

As a member of our Production team, you’ll be primarily focused on building compelling and engaging websites to a high standard, across a range of different projects. You’ll take complete ownership of your projects, from concept to delivery.

You’ll be responsible for balancing your workload, collaborating closely with the wider business on internal and external projects. You’ll work as a key part of our Production team to make sure work is tackled efficiently, ideas are shared, and skills are transferred wherever possible.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Front-End Development
    • Code website templates accurately and efficiently from design mock-ups, using modern HTML and CSS techniques – working within and contributing to our processes and technologies (For example, WordPress, Bootstrap, Git)
    • Incorporate content management features within sites using WordPress
    • Take responsibility for testing website accessibility, responsiveness and cross-browser appearance, fixing bugs and implementing workarounds as necessary
    • Assist with production of other web content, including MailChimp email templates
  • Web Design
  • Develop visually attractive, modern websites to a high standard from an outline brief/design
  • Contribute to user experience, produce suggested site structures, advise on content placement and augment existing customer branding where necessary.
  • You’ll be confident working within established guidelines while flexing & extending them where necessary, informing the development of our and our client’s brands.

Soft Skills and Personal Attributes

  • Proven experience in coding accessible, responsive sites adhering to modern web standards (i.e. HTML, CSS, WAI guidelines)
  • Proven experience working within WordPress or a similar CMS, and using frameworks such as Bootstrap.
  • Some familiarity with PHP would also be beneficial
  • Experience using JavaScript, and utilising JavaScript libraries (such as jQuery) to enhance website functionality and presentation
  • Some experience with Adobe Creative Suite (specifically Photoshop and InDesign) would be an advantage.
  • Strong communication skills – You should able to able to communicate your work and ideas with the team and wider business
  • Should be happy to work independently on your own initiative, as well as collaboratively to both consult and support other team members
  • Good time management skills, and ability to keep to tight deadlines.
  • Ability to learn as you work, using web resources to push our web & brand design work into new areas while expanding your own skills.
