How Do I Set Up Equalities Monitoring?

Here you can set up the equalities categories you’d like to report against for things like ethnicity, gender and so on.

Setting Up Ethnic Groups

Before you add Ethnic Origins, you’ll need to review your Ethnic Groups - these are broader groupings like White, Black, Asian etc that Ethnic Origins sit inside for reporting.

Go to Settings > Equalities Monitoring > Ethnic Groups and you’ll see the page shown on the right here.

To edit an existing group, click it’s name.
To remove a group, click the Expire button.
To add a new group, type a name in the form at the top and click Save.

You’re now ready to set up Ethnic Origins inside these groups!

Setting up Ethnic Origins

Go to Settings > Equalities Monitoring > Ethnic Origins to get started.

Name: Add a name for the group e.g. Asian Indian

Code: give it a quick code for reporting e.g. AI

Ethnic Group: choose the group it sits in

Expiry Date: only set this if you no longer want to use the department - ‘expiring’ is like deleting on the ATS, but without removing old data.

You can see your existing Ethnic Origins below the Add New form, and move these up & down so they appear to applicants in order.

Once you’ve set up Ethnic Groups, the other Equalities Monitoring categories are easy - they’re all just adding a name and you’re done! Here’s an example using Age Groups.

Setting Up Age Groups

Go to Settings > Equalities Monitoring > Age Groups and you’ll see the page shown on the right here.

To edit an existing group, click it’s name. To remove a group, click the Expire button. To add a new group, type a name in the form at the top and click Save.

Setting up other Equalities categories

All the other Equalities categories are the same as Age Groups - just click Edit to edit, Expire to remove, or type in a name to create a new one.
