Back in July this year, we hosted the latest in our breakfast networking events – held in partnership with In-house Recruitment Network – in Manchester. The aim of these events is to provide an opportunity for recruitment and HR professionals to get together to hear from expert speakers and discuss their own experiences in round table discussions.

As ever, the event was a huge success with people coming from across the North West to attend.

Our speakers included Jonathan Reardon, Talent Acquisition Advisor for North Yorkshire Police, who discussed how the police force has been promoting inclusion and diversity. He explained that a long and disengaging application process caused them significant problems attracting and retaining candidates and took us through a case study of a different approach they had taken in their recent student officer campaign.

We also heard from Wyn Jones, the Deputy Director of Human Resources at Leeds teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. The trust have become industry leaders in terms of the way they approach onboarding and it was great to hear directly from Wyn on how they have gone about it. He told us how they have transformed their employee journey and successfully automated all documentation, leading to a massive saving in time and money.

As ever, it was a pleasure for us to get the chance to present our own take on the current and future recruitment trends. It’s always a joy to see the discussions that come off of the back of this presentation, with so many people bringing their own experiences and best practises to the table.

These events always set out to not only inform but spark lively discussion and debate and this event did not disappoint. It was fantastic to not only see such a great turnout but that all those in attendance were so engaged and ready to voice their own thoughts and ideas.
